Hey guys,
I know this may seem like a dumb question, but do you think I can keep a baby 3 in datnoid with adult size 6in angelfish. The tank is planted and has lots of hiding places as the plants are starting to over grow the tank. I know that datnoids get big and it is inevitable that I will need to upgrade and change the stock but am wondering how long this can be done and if they are aggressive enough to cause issues to the tank. I love these fish and see some in stock for 45 dollars in my area, I won’t be able to upgrade in anytime within the year. The tank is currently 75 gallons.

Thanks!
Ray

i don't see an issue as datnoids grow slow. as for community, it depends very much on the temperament

I have mixed datnoids with angel fish, discus previously etc.. no issues.... the only fighting the datnoids do are between themselves... other than that mine are pussies... even my common pleco (6-7 inches) bullies the datnoids (between 6-7 inches to 11-12 inches)

the only concern is you may want to cover your tank.

Okay great to hear! Thanks! I’m very tempted to give my self an early Christmas present ?!

These are the photos the seller sent. Anyone know what kind of datnoids these are? I think they look pretty healthy! He says they eat frozen food. How easy is it to convert them on massivores? Also will they tear up plants or leave them alone?

All of them are IT's. A lot easier when they are young to convert them over to pellets or if you have other fish that takes pellets to entice them to take it. Otherwise, it's somewhat difficult and you will need to starve them, but everyone will have different experiences depending on the dats.
