As long as the fishes are too big for the datnoid, you're fine. Datnoids are peaceful towards fish too big to eat. If datnoids get picked on, they can handle themselves.
I have a gold siamese tiger fish. He's in a community tank with nothing that fits in his mouth.. right now. He's doubled in size from when I first got him 5 months ago. Now he can suck a whole bloodworm cube in his mouth if I am careless. When I first got him he was super shy but now he has his own space in the tank (lots of rock feature) and he's very comfortable. He's not threatened at all or interested in the other fish but someday he'll definitely outgrow the 55 gal he's in... I can't wait. Good luck- Awesome fish.

I agree with this. Datnoids are quite peaceful if other just leave it alone in their own space. If any try to invade its area, most likely it will just "Poke" that particular fish away.
