datnoids and freshwater

i thought that they were supposed to be in brackish water but i always see them in large community tanks with arawonas, so can anyone give me some info on this.

The silver dat is the only one that should be kept in brackish conditions. I keep the other species in fresh with just a little salt added for disease prevention.
