Is this normal behavior they've been doing this for a while now and also lip locking like cichlids.

It is as normal for them as with any other fish in a closed environment trying to establish them self as the dominate one in that space.

Not the best camera angle but I agree with the above post....at least they are active and not cowering in a dark corner.A good amount of indos seem to have that nasty little habit.
