Datnoids what type stay small?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yea silvers will most likely stay under a foot. Thins probably will stop around a foot, but have the ability of getting larger

NTTs or silvers

Really it doesnt matter. You can get any species....if it grows to large sell it and buy two or three smaller ones!

But yes Ive never seen a silver over 10" or an NTT over 12".

lol that's pretty true, datnoids are very sought after fish so you won't worry about ever getting "stuck" with one.

I don't think any datnoids truly stay less than 12". given enough time, they'll all mature into fairly large adults. however, it's very very rare to find a silver datnoid at 12" or larger. partly because they're more of a brackish water fish, and very few live long enough to grow that big.

Very true, you will find it hard to get any 1" dat to 12" within 5 years

if you buy any tiger at 1-4inch you will be lucky to grow it to 12inch with 4yrs so it doesnt matter what type you buy

i brought a 3inch NGT 5yrs ago and its just over 12inch

the growth of any tiger past 12inch in a tank is very very slow you will be lucky if it grows 1inch per year once it gets to 12inch
