i have 9 wide bars and 2 thin bars. i bought 4 wide bars recently around 1.5-2 inches. it seems the one i bought it from was the one that cause the smallest wide bar to die. i asked him what he is feeding them and he replies... shrimp. i asked him how did he train them to eat shrimp and he tells me he starves them until they eat it. when i got home i tried to feed them shrimp but my old one's don't eat shrimp but feeders. i waited. the smallest one was out beaten in eating. i went and bought some feeders. they ate as if it was the last feeding. the smallest one ate one. but after 2 days it died on me. i think it has been starving for so long it can't handle it and just died on me.. unfortunately. i find dats hardy at size 4-6 inches. smaller than that.. just be careful.
I lost 2 of the 4 thinbars I got from them. I dont beleive they quarantine their fish. So basically they are caught, and are bagged and shipped several times before you get them. Its too much stresss for some of them and they just dont make it. Also be sure to quarantine them yourselves.
