Hello all, seem to be having a problem with my datnoids especially, although other fish in the tank seem to be scratching as well .... i have 6, 4-bar dats, and 2, 7-bar dats, and i've had them for 6 months .... all of a sudden i see them scratching against things, and the majority of them have a bluish tint to their eyes and their eyes seem somewhat cloudy .... some even seem to have like white head pimples occasionally .... fish are eating normally, just want to stop this problem before it progresses .... some fish have both eyes bluish, and others its just one eye, and a couple don't have any cloudiness .... none of my other fish seem to have this bluish tint, but 1 of my vampire tetra's also seems to have slightl cloudiness in 1 eye, and these pimple things occasionally .... anybody have any idea's?

A little background ... i have a 220 gallon tank, with a wet dry filter containing 6 wide bar gold datnoids, 2 silver 7datnoids bar datnoids, 5 goliath african tiger fish, 2 vampire tetra's, 1 Nile Perch, 1 tarpon, 1 african pike, 1red spotted golby, 1 maganese cichlid, 2 freshwater barracuda's and 1 royal pleco all about 3-52 inches in size .... about 22 months ago i lost power and lost my biological filter resulting in a massive ammonia spike, and i noticed the datnoids scratching and 1 had this blue eye problem, but with water changes and adding salt he got better, and now he's one of the only dats who's eyes are normal .... ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels are all 0, and i'm afraid to add more salt since i've been maintaining the directed doses of salt as instructed by the box

3-5 inches, and 2 months ago is what the last post should read, i lost power at my house about a day ago due to winter weather and i'm writing on my phone, which is difficult to say the least .... and dont worry, i have a generator running my tank! :-)

Keep up the water changes, raise temps to mid 80s (might be bad for your nile perch), add aquarium salt and increase aeration.
