I have 1 IT dat (5.5"-6") and 3 pbass (6"-7.5") in the same tank. During day time, the dat sometimes chases the pbass making noises and water flashes. It is much worse at night however. I'm posting because it's getting worse recently, and the wife is getting annoyed. We sleep right on top of the tank on the upper floor with the door open and can hear the noise all night long. The good thing is that all 3 pbass share the aggression so no particular one is hurt...yet!

The dat always stays on the bottom while the pbass stay on top. Is there a way to curb the aggression a bit, or is this the way it is with the two species? Would having driftwoods help? Should I power feed the pbass to make them a lot bigger than the dat sooner to deal with this? Thanks in advance for any ideas.

I think that is just the way it is. My dats always chase each other and make loud noises when they bite. As long as its not doing damage i would say it sokay. As for the noise not much you can do.

Dats make noise --> That's true. When dats get bigger 9inch and above, And noise comes from big mouths...

dats and peacock bass tend not to mix well. I got a 3 inch indo from a buddy because it had 4 7 inch orinos pinned in a corner
