Should i use less lighting for dats??? I've got ones that are fairly stable they come to the front of the tank when they see me; but as soon as i turn on the light they go hide. Do dats not like lighting?? should i keep my lighting on for longer periods of time to get my fishes used to it?? what can i do about this...is there anything???? Any1???

Just leave it on and see if they get used to it.

My datnoids do prefer no light but have learnt to come out.

They are however more active without lights on.

Thanks I'll try that.

i agree! my dats would hide in the morning since they get morning sun plus my light bulb. some would still go out. i have some large anubias plant and they hide under the leaves. :( at night... when all lights are off.. they are very very very active... they would swim near and wherever i am at. i love my dats.. i think it takes them to get to use to it. but i have been trying.:( no luck yet. maybe when they get bigger they don't have any place to hide anymore.:naughty:
