You are not doing anything worng, dats just suck like that. No matter how much space you have the dominate one will still chase the others, and hog all the food as well. In turn he will grow the fastest and it will get worse. As long as the others stay out of his way, they will be fine. I have three about 8-10''in a 900 gallon with other fish and hiding places and they still manage to seek out and destroy the fins on each other. I guess its gets better when they get about 12+ inches because I see people with large ones living together, but they all usually have spit fins.

Another quick one what the best way off getting them on pellets as can only get them to take bloodworm and mashed up prawn

IMO, it seems to be luck of the draw. Usually the most aggressive one will take pellets first, then maybe the other. Depending on how aggressive the main on is. And then there the hit or miss factor. I have one one that eats everything, including pellets for a while now, and one just started tanking shrimp, but still have one that will only eat live.

Everybody saying you're not doing anything wrong is wrong.

Your main mistake is having only 2 dats together. NEVER DO THIS. There will always be one that will dominate the other. You need at least 3, preferably 5+, or you're better off with just 1. Having a group spreads out the aggression.

Also, you probably should put them in a smaller tank until they're in the 4-6'' range. They may have a hard time finding food in a big tank, and if they're hungry they're more aggressive.

If you give the smaller one a place to hide the larger one will swim free and beat the smaller one up everytime he pops his head out to feed

Tigers will ALWAYS fight if the sizes are close

You have 3 choices get more to spread aggression
Just keep on or or keep 2 with a massive size difference

The only problem with the size difference thing is tigers grow fast up to 8-10 inch then slow down at which point the smaller one will catch up and fights will start again
