Dats color! doest anyone know why?

Fellows,

I don't know about your guys but I've been notice and very curious about this. I've see many Dats on color basic, but does every Dats color are different?

some dats I've see are yellow, gold, dark, ever orange Dats with bar. This is cause by location where the Dats original come from? or just the way how dats are?

any comments on this?

wow that was hard to read lol.

I think it is more diet based then loaction based. It probably has something to due with their surroundings also (tank set up).

I notice that dats color are brighter if you keep them in blue background tank than in black background tank

/\ I agree. Also I think it depends on the fish. I have an IT that is like a tangerine/pinkish/orange. His color is so stunning but I can never seem to capture it in a photograph!

all down to each tiger they all have diffrent shades of color

i sold all the other tigers off

but the last pic is the tiger i kept

he is always that color never ever goes black or washed out

he has grown alot since i sold the other tigers he must be close to 15inch now

i also think the color has a bit to do with food that last pic is the only tiger i have had that will eat pellets

My dats vary quite a bit...even the ones from the same batch. I have some that are dark gold in coloration and some that are very light...almost white in coloration.

I've seen the most drastic changes depending on diet. I have a few dats that absolutely go nuts for krill, and they are a more intense gold in color...my NGT is developing a beautiful red crest. The dats that eat less krill and more worms/market shrimp are lighter in coloration.

this near white tiger would only eat meal worms

i used to love this tiger perfect stripes perfect body shape but very unstable

some may even say IT from the body stripes on one side

I've watched a whole bunch of videos of dats on youtube and in some of the comm tanks full of dats there will some orange, some yellow, some really bright yellow, others really dark.
