Dats (Indo I think..) ok w/ Clown Loaches?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think they're fine with dats but the only problem i found out that if you just buy a small cloan loach you gotta quarintine them because they are known to get white spot disease and it can spread to your other fish in your tank. Also, if your cloan loach is very smaller compared to your dat it can cause problem if your dat eat it, their spines are their back are quite dangerous, so be careful and i also read somewhere that they are poisonous. So do your homework before mixing these guys up. Last resort, if you cant find information, try google it.

Huh so the Dats know not to eat them? interesting...

Dats can still eat clown loaches. Clown loaches have sharp spines that flip out from around their eye area that would discourage fish from eating them. Fish can still eat them though and it can be very harmful to both fish involved.

Ok so Dats + clowns that are of a size that might be tempting to eat are a bad idea, as I suspected. Just wondered since I saw some pics with just that happening! Just goes to show each situation is different, I guess.

Thanks for the advice, I didn't know that about the clown loaches.
