So it started out my new Salvinis had ich. I bumped the temp to 84 and treated the tank with 3 tsp of salt per gallon. (1 tsp per gal 12 hours apart over 36 hours). 5 days have gone by and at least half of my other fish are showing ich now but my Salvinis seem to be clear or maybe a couple spots yet. So is it too early for the spots to be gone in the tank or is the treatment not working? Thanks.

Be patient. It takes two weeks before the ich is completely gone. But once they appear to be completely gone, continue another 10 days of treatment to be sure.

Just a quick update. It's now day 7 and no spots at all!! Amazing that 2 days ago almost all my fish had spots. I will continue the raised temp and salt treatment for another 10 days to be sure. Lupin and Robmcd you were right. Patience.......... This treatment of salt has cost me about 4 dollars compared to about 40 bucks last time I treated them with store bought meds. (110 gal tank) Thanks for all the info MFK.

But continue treatment even if you don't see anything.. they are there waiting for the opportunity to strike again... keep treating the tank

I use rid ick +, I have been able to get rid of all ick in three days with that stuff, it works wonders.
