During the daytime my 30 gal is a constant 84,every morning before i turn on the light,it's 82.Now i know this is because my lights raise the H2O temp 2 degrees, but is this harmfull on my fish?Would this actually be benificial, like re-creating night and day temp flucuations? In the wild the day temp is more than the night temp so maybe by me putting those two 75 watt incandesents on the tank was a good thig.I did it because it reminds me of the Metal-Halide over brightness of Coral and invertabrate tanks:):):):):):):):):):):):) And with my white sand,it's blinding, took the fish a while to get used to it but it's back to S.O.P. for them,I suggest incandesents to anyone without plants and i guarantte you'll like the extra light.:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

84 degrees sounds a little on the warm / hot side....unless you are treating with heat and salt for some problem????;)

No,good temp for healthy appetite with Crenicichla,Peanut keeps one or more of his tanks at 85 too. They eat good with high temps.Plus my water is super-oxygenated so i'm as fine as wine. Also staves off ich for the most part.It is warm as a Mofo in Sa/Ca dogg.

How are the sevs holding up in the 85 deg water?? I keep mine at 80 even.....:)

Mine stays with a FULL belly, only a juvie though,i swear you can SEE these guys growing!!!!! Flourishes at 85.80 is good to though.Hey,i got a Bluegill in 83+degreees!!!They live under ice!!

I keep my tank at 82. A change like that really won't bother them, but if you are afraid it will, turn the heat down in the house or turn the heater in the tank up 2 degrees.
