Daytona Beach, Florida - Cichlids?

I will be there this August for a week. Looking to catch some cichlids and take them back with me, besides Pea's. I'm just not sure if they are that far North. If not then I would like to meet someone on here in the Miami Dade area possibly.

Anyone know if there are cichlids to catch that far north?
 
My friend who goes to school in Tampa catches Oscars and mayans in the ponds around his apartment complex. Not sure if there are any on the East coast though.

Blue tilapia in Tampa but Oscars and Uros in Tampa?? Very doubtful
 
He lives just south of Tampa closer to Sarasota. I know for a fact he has caught Oscars from his snapchats. After a little research you are probably right about the mayans though. They were probably tilapia.

From Miami, PM when you slide down to the 305. So many cichlids that you're probably going to go nuts trying to decide what to keep.
