Have had this Oscar for 5 years now and he hasnt been very well for the last few months. His stomach has what looks to be a large tumor and he stopped eating for the last few days before his death.

None of the other inhabitants in the same tank have any signs of illness and are all very healthy. The tank is seriously overfiltered with two fluval FX5 filters, 2 koralia 4 circulation pumps, 28" aristone and a HOB filter running carbon and zeolite.

I guess he was just a bit old, but then again ive heard of oscars living till 10 years old.

RIP Oscar :(

Bloat? Or some other deadly ailment. Could be a internal tumor but not likely. Have a peek inside...

I'd rather not "open him up" as he was a pet and not just a fish like the others, so i'll leave him with that dignity.
The other fish are totally fine with no signs of any illness so i'm unlucky i guess.

From the looks of it, that's certainly no natural death. And O do live much further past 5 years. That's a real bummer dude. Sorry to hear.

Sorry for your loss, looks seriously bloated, a friend of mine just lost one that was8 years old to same thing

looks like he was a beautiful fish! sorry for your loss.
