One of my baby endlichiris died for a mysterious reason :( checked the water and everything is perfect the temp is at 78 .... I saw him yesterday Laying on the bottom of the tank trying to breathe like he was struggling and gasping for air .... Then a hour later he was dead .... No idea why at all he was bout 2" long
Has this happened to anyone else ? And did u find out the cause of it ?

78 is pretty cold for bichirs. It should be around 84-86. And do you have any air pump? If you dont. I suggest you get one ;). Give them more oxygen :). Sr for it to happened :(. But you'll learn something out of this! And of course, get more bichirs!!!!

Iv always had my bichirs at 78 temp for years it's never been a problem b4 and yes I have a air pump ..... It can't be oxygen cause the only things in the 55 gal tank is 2 2" endlis and a 6" delhezi .... There should have been plenty of oxygen for them

Idk about 78 being cold that's the normal temp for my larger tank, however I keep my grow outs at 82-84. Sorry for your loss. What are the tankmates, substrate, filtration, tank size?

Sometimes these things just happen. I also had a 9" teugelsi randomly die on me. 1 of the best eaters, super healthy and active. 1 day I just came home and it was dead. These things just happen and sometimes we'll never find out why. I know a few others that have had the same thing happen

Baby anything is delicate. That is why they are cheaper, but you take a risk for the low price.
