hi
i have a 100 ukgallon tank with 1 big external filter and 1 internal fluval 4+ and a uv steraliser.
the water parameters are:
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 10
pH 7.8
temp 78'C
I have lost 1 texas cichlid 3" and 2 tinfoil barbs 5" in 1 day.
there is no sign of disease.
the remaining 2 tinfoil barbs seem to bash each other a lot as though they are fighting.
The other fish include 2 synodontis and a fire eel none of which are aggressive.
the convicts are only interested in each other and stay well out of the way.
I have watched the cons extensively and they are not aggressive so i think i can rule them out.
the catfish and the eel are quite peacefull and rarely squabble.
so is the tinfoil barb the culprit that murdered the other fish or am i just unluck that 3 fish died so clos together but co-incedence's in fish keeping are very rare.
any ideas folks will greatly be appreciated as i am probably getting rid of the tinfoils and geting some more texas cichlids to grow on.
