so the other day im in petsmart and i ask a lady in the fish section how is a good way to clean my tank. She told me to take a cap-full of bleach and dump in the tank and let it cycle. Is this a good idea? Something just seems fishy about this and I'm not going to do it until i get the go ahead. What do y'all think?

Abso-f******-lutely do not do this. Chlorine is an extremely persistent and toxic chemical. If my opinion isn't enough, just Mamma.com it or Google. Please, please do not do this.
Just use hot water and elbow grease.

It's a good way to clean out your tank in the sense of "I now have no fish, the bleach killed them all."
Thats the worst advice I have heard in a while.
A siphon w/water changes will do the trick.

go back to the store, grab a 5lb bag of gravel (any color will work), and smack that lady in the face :irked:
