Healthy pacu grow rapidly and get huge. They have voracious appetites. Proper fishkeeping of pacu involves maintaining excellent water parameters for them and providing appropriate housing to accommodate their massive size so that they can live to their full life potential of 30+ years. Perhaps you should reconsider keeping pacu, if you don't like their massiveness. There are other characins that have the pacu look, but are much smaller, such as some silver dollars. A smaller characin might be perfect for your tank. It really hurts to read that you are withholding food in an attempt to keep your pacu small, and that the other fish are also suffering as a result.

^ Couldn't have said it better myself.

The fact that you'd decrease feedings to try to stunt your fish's growth and seem to find it hilarious your tank mates shredd each other due to hunger is sad. Definitely poor fishkeeping...
