Hey guys!

Need advice my 2 cudas were fine this morning. Came home and saw 1 floating and the other on the bottom both dead but still soft with eye no glazed yet. What could have killed them?! oh I still have a Scomb, Jordanian & red tail cude in the same tank. Should I do a water change? or leave them be?

HELP!!!!:cry::cry::cry:

Niether look healthy or normal - both appear to be missing fins the lower one so bad that the wound is ulcerated and it really doesn't look as tho it happened overnight.
One can only guess what exactly happened - we have no clue to your tanksize, water parameters, when the fins were lost, when the ulcer started or where.
Only thing I can say is if jordanian is really Jardini - the cohab would be very difficult for all of your stock however the wounds look too small for an Arrowana. There is no clear puncture wound associated with Payara whom generally aren't pec fin nippers leaving the Falcatus, if it is in fact a red tail cuda not another species of characin labeled red tail, as your primary suspect. Suspect only if you didn't buy these fish in this condition.

i believe the culprit is finrot...its one of the top killers of barracudas

nevertheless i hope the fish get better soon. such a waste on those rare find fish...

In my experience with baby barracudas is NO tankmates other than barracudas. They seem to get very stressed with any other fish in there, and die. Also, what is the water temp? With little babies it is a good idea to keep your tank up to say 85 degrees. Plenty of air, You need great airation as well. Do you run any salt? Baby cudas need VERY good water, whats your filtering? Do you have any kind of a powerhead in there for a current? There are a lot of variables to consider, and as stated above, Tank size? Water quality and parameters?
