so today after i got home from school, i discovered one of my 4 blue phantoms dead. inspected the dead blue phantom and couldnt figure what was the cause of death. sucks because im trying to collect a small colony of blue phantoms in hopes of getting lucky enough for a pair to breed.

i guess i need to start shopping again, maybe ill get 3 or 4 more.

Not an easy fish to breed by any standards. If you intend to breed, start with at least 6 young, and grow them out. Keep in mind that they grow quite large, and tank a long time to get there.

thanks for the advice. will look for at least 3 more young ones. feeling a bit more comfortable sexing them now too. not sure if im doing it 100% right, hopefully my guess is good enough for all females

A friend of mine has 4 adults at 6" and the males have lots of those spiny things on there fins and face.

6" TL is far from full grown. 6" SL is still not fully grown.

L128 can attain 7-8" SL. I had one L128 hit the 8" SL mark.
