So my lfs told me I would be better off going with some dead rock to start my fowlr and it was cheaper so I thought why not?
I have around 90lbs of it in my 120 gallon & I need to know if I should add some live rock to seed the dead rock or add some bacteria manually?

adding live rock is the best way. Once you add fish you will have a ammonia source to help seed the dead rock. this takes awhile though so you will have to stock your tank slowly as it will probably take awhile to cycle

You could also cycle it the old way with dead prawns. Usually takes about 6 weeks but this is how I do my tanks.

Agreed, buy like ten pounds of live rock, add it to the collection...and let the tank cycle...best off doing it that way....throw in a damsel or two and the nitrate cycle should be done in no time

damsels work but arent Ideal sense they are generally mean and hard to catch so your stuck with them. Put some shrimp in your sump. Thats how we start most of the tanks we do. Otherwise if you want fish just start with a few small fish that you want to keep. Dont add many just one or two and it will be fine

i start with damsels because they are 5$ at my lfs. yeah they are mean, but who cares if your getting rid of them lol...and hard to catch...just gives you a chance to rearrange your rock work ;) haha

I have gone with Seachem Stability based on some good reviews and a strong recommendation from my lfs & just added some fish today
