What's up guys? I have a question for all of you...
I am a novice in the fish keeping hobby so bare with me.

I have a 125 gallon tank running with a Fluval FX5 canister and Fluval E300 heater. Tank cycled for about a month before I added anything. Adopted a reticulated stingray (about 5" diameter) and she has been very active appears to be in very good health.

I bought two baby tiger oscars (about 2" each) last week. When they came home they were very stressed from the 15 minute ride and lost all of their color by the time they were in the tank. First 15 minutes I thought they were dead since they just sat at the bottom but in a few hours they were colorful, eating and very active sticking side by side.

Fast forwarding to yesterday, they are both dead. Parameters are the same, stingray seems to still be 100% same active level and eating. The day or two before the oscars seemed a little dazed and confused. Usually, they were very active when they smelled the bloodworm's coming but they just started to sit and when the food came, not eat.

I now found them both dead at the bottom of the tank, fully there no body parts missing from the ray. I am very confused as to why this could be because all my parameters are the same and the stingray is still the same as before.

The only thing I can think of that is different is a strage white mucus that seems to have appeared on my driftwood, which I wiped clean and has now returned more so. I read it is just a build up of some sort but has no real harm.

Can anybody help me?!?!?!

you never mentioned your water parameters, or how you know your tank was cycled.

do you know what your ammonia / nitrite / nitrate levels are?

Yeah.. So, you have a healthy ray and 2 oscars for $20 that are BABIES that never really thrived and then died. I say start quaratining your fish and keep that ray healthy!
