:swear: Put Ram in hard water, died overnight. If I don't kill myself, how do I get the gH down?

delgados got some good advice there if you have really high ph gh and you must if it killed a ram overnight get an ro unit and mix it with your supply water 1/4 ro to your water and measure your ph gh again add more ro if needed till you get it down where you need it this is good for a stable fix or you could try the other suggs

pH is good at 6.2 but gH is off. Maybe I didn't acclimate long enough.......

Neons, gold barbs, corys are fine so far.

Do lfs stock peat or bogwood....i don't know if mine does i'll ask

Update: Had a real seashell in the tank, I'm sure that didn't help. Took it out, changed 20% of water. Will continue to change 20% every other day, see if that helps. May also try the peat if I can find it.

their are several ways to do this

one- get a reverse osmosis unit

two- get a softer softening filter medium

three- use bogwood and peat in your filter

i think thats it

How much for RO unit?
