Dead rock questions

Hello, I have some fossilized corals and old shells that I would like to put in my tank as dead rock, it's been sitting in the garage for awhile and I was wondering if I would need to cure it or something?

Just give it a good scrubbing with a brush before putting them into the tank.

I found out from my uncle that it was in an African cichlid tank, do I still just need to scrub it?

should really scrub it good and it wouldn't hurt to have it in a hold tank with saltwater by themselves

with it once being in a freshwater set up you should ask if any copper based medication was possibly used
if not 100 % sure not I would not take the risk in a reef tank
