Dead Rock with African Cichlids

Hi, I've got a quick question. I have 6 nice pieces of what was once live rock (been sitting out of water for about 3 years now). I currently have them soaking in freshwater for their third day in a row. I was wondering if I could use the now dead rock in an African cichlid tank. If not I'll get new rock, I'm just curious if this will work. I will also be posting in the rocks/coral/invert section (wasn't sure which one would be best so why not both)

It'll be fine. I use block coral, block limestone, and aragonite rice gravel in my Tanganyika tanks.
