This morning I was mooching around a few LFSs, and the owner of one asked me if I was interested in a sucker.

Apparently, another customer had part exchanged this for a discount of $15 (euivalent) for some other fish. The owner asked me if I knew anything about it.

It is four inches long, and looks to me to be either an L600 or an L114. Your opinions please.

I showed him these two on planetcatfish on my phone and said that was probably worth more than what he discounted it for. He sold it to me for the same sum, and wished me luck if it is worth more.

Here it is bagged up. Was I right? Did I get a deal?

I can not id it (I would just be guessing), but I do know you got a great deal. That is a sweet looking pleco, normally worth quite a bit more than 15 bucks. You may want to offer more hiding places, including some wood, even if that species may be more of a carnivore?

+1, I think you made out like a bandit! I'm pretty sure I've seen that fish in my LFS, and also pretty sure it was expensive!

Even if she doesn't know, she's always nice to hear from. :)

You definitely made a great purchase even if you don’t keep this cactus pleco. In my local it’s worth about $80-$120 depending on the l#

I’ve don’t a lot of reading about these guys and some people say the l114 is just a juvie l600 or another variant color morph. So I don’t really want to go guessing which pleco you have but I personally think l114.
Beautiful pleco!
