i have never seen the glass just split off both seems completely like that how odd, tank must have been in the sun to long or some kind of heat made the seems week over time unless that middle brace had been broken for a while

A little lexan and it would make a lovely high humidity plant environment, or.... if done right it could be a dandy reptile enclosure.
 
I lose all my saltwater fish!.... Looks like he lost his glass panel.
