Just the other day Gillian was saying to me that fishing was like a drug to me. I said, while that may be true, no one has ever died from fishing. Of course, people die on fishing trips, and while fishing quite often, but it is not the act of fishing that is the absolute cause of death.
Two days after our conversation she sent me an article about a fifty three year old man who recently died while fishing in Hungary. Apparently the fisherman was dragged into a river by a 150lb catfish. He refused to let go if his rod and was dragged through the water until he hit his head on a rock and died.
Strangely enough, the fishermans body was found still grasping his fishing rod tightly in his hands. What is even stranger is that the giant catfish still remained at the end of his line. Gillian believes my life will come to an end in a similar way.
