IN YOUR HEAD
i had my big tank have a bactiria crash and my 5" rtc died.:irked: it was part my falt i cleaned the fillter with tap water. i thought that was the main cause, now i find out why i have had problems with all my tanks. after in a seperate tank my 3.5" tsn just dided for no apperent reason:irked:. i asked my roomates if they did anything to the tanks. they said "i feed them they looked hungry" ALL THREE SAID THIS! now i know why when i feed them they don't eat as much as before and why the nitrites were out of control. that pissed me of to here that after i told ALL of them only i will feed the fish nobody touch the fish tanks don't put anything in them!:irked::irked: now i don't know if i get new ones if they will catch up to my rtcxtsn hybrid that is now 12". also are cats more sensitive to this kinda thing because i have an aro, gar, 8 tinfoils, 3 balas, 2 yellow bullheads, and 8 crayfish. they all showed no issues, eatting normal, and active. the cats (the rtc and rtcxtsn) stopped eatting and looked sickly. now my tsnxrtc is eatting some. the tsn got sick and died in less then 1 day and that was in a diff tank, that also crashed. i left for 2 days and come back to over $100 in dead fish beween catfish and african chilids.:irked::irked::irked::irked::irked:

tell your roommates only you feed the fish... sorry for your loss

i think i have to beat it into them because i told them not to and they did. thanx for your support! my favorite cat is the tsn they are the reason i got into big cats and mine died. does anyone think if i got new ones they would catch up to my 12" hybrid?

That sucks. Break some legs and then try to find some new cats with a little growth on them already.

Yeah I've seen the incident where people just wont stop feeding the cats. Sum stupid people just want to see the catfish eat another fish, so they keep engorging the catfish to beyond a safe limit.

Not that it has ever happened to me, but I can imagine the scenario where someone would just keep feeding my RTC food until the belly was a balloon

I'm sorry to hear about your losses. My suggestion would be that you wait to buy more cats until you're in the new house, which will have the pond. At that time, you can adopt cats who have grown too large for their current homes, which will give you larger cats, who need a home, who would otherwise suffer. That's how I got my two Pacus, and I felt better for getting them that way, instead of encouraging the LFS to order more fish who grow too large for the average aquarist. This is just my two cents, but I think it would work out better for you that way.

my hybrid died now also. the tank has now started cycling again. i got 3 tsns now in a grow out tank. i told everyone if they feed my fish they will be feed to them...j/k. i do like the adoption of fishes and i told my lfs' that if they come acrossed any to let me know. i just adopted a 10" jack dempsy that has had a bad life but now is in a good home. i thought about waiting on the cats until i had my pond but i saw these three in a tank and the store people didn't feed them all week so i got them and now they are eatting. they also had 3 rtcs in the same situation, but i don't want to get to far ahead of myself. thanx again for your support.
