i have texas holey rock. the rock was pure white. now its green. i have olive nerites but they lay eggs everywere. i was looking for a decent algea eater that can live in this enviorment. the tank is a 40 breeder. a bottom dweller will be best. i have enough snails.

try Chinese algae eater. i have 2 and it keeps my tank pretty much algae free,

they can live in that ph:WHOA:

I have a rubberlip in one of my tanks. He does an amazing job at cleaning. They stay under 5 inches, and the best part is that I never see him unless I just turn on the light.

they might
the place i bought them from was infested with algae.and they lived like that ever since they were born. my Chinese Algae Eaters are 4" and they have a slow growth rate

what about common plecos. i like the rubber lip idea though.

commons get so big. i use a pair of clown loaches. 3" tops and they usually stay hidden until night. i got one in the 150 and the other in the55

clown loaches in 7.5-8 ph

Yeah, a rubber lip or a bushynose.

Common plecos lose interest in algae and become bottom feeders.
