decent co2

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The automatic units come with a pH sensor connected to the timer/solenoid switch and regulate your CO2 by virtue of your CO2 measured against the kH of the water. I haven't used one of the linked systems so I can't speak to it's effectiveness. I've seen better diffuser designs thouhg, and by looking at it I'm not sure that'd be the one I'd go with, especially since they're packaging it with silicon tubing (which is porous enough to leak off a good amount of CO2).

dr. fosters co2 kits are junk and overpriced. you can get the same for less on ebay, take a look at milwaukee regulators

someone else mentioned this to me, and I think I am set to order one this weekend. do i really need the ph monitor?

na, IMO ph controllers are a waste of money. some will say it helps prevent end-of-tank-dump but i never had that problem. just keep an eye on your co2 levels and dont let the bottle go completely empty and youll be fine.

a simple mechanical timer that costs $6 (get two, one for solenoid and one for lights) will replace an expensive ph controller

sounds good thanks alot, I should be getting all this next week and start planting by the weekend.

wish me luck, ill post pictures along the way.
