I have a Berkley Cherrywood graphite '-- CWS902MH -- 9'0 MEDIUM HEAVY SPINNER -- LURE 10.5 - 1.5 --TRILENE 6-15 9 TO 28gms --' spinning rod,Im not sure if the rings are suitable for braid(can't find any information) for one but also the weights it could cast make me think I may need a rod that casts slightly heavier, maybe 20-60gms???I am new to spinning and trying to take it all in but firstly is the rod suitable? Any help much appreciated as the amount of rods out there is a bit confusing,I've seen loads of short ones but my feeling is 8'-10' is a good size? Also If I am going to get a newer rod I can't spend crazy money on a rod so for maybe £40 what is a decent rod to get new or look out for 2nd hand???

is it glass eyes?
if so you should be fine, you planning on power pro or something else?

the rod will be fine, it's the reel that will be doing the work, that's what you have to work with.

the gear doesn't matter as much to me. you don't have to go out and spend rediculous amounts of money on fishing gear. just buy descent ones at descent prices and practice a lot.

it's who's using the gear that matters more

sorry to go off subject a little but just sayin,...............

and you should be fine with 8'-10' pole
