Ok as most of you know I am currently in the construction phase of my 3000 sq ft ... Fresh water stingray hatchery ( Dark Rivers Hatchery). I am currently working with the issue of using county water which is the worst I ever seen. I have the filtration worked out see thread attachment http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=176646
this will show my full planned system......but my question is I have set my system up as a drip system from my water source and I want to dechlorinze by doing a flow thru my drum filters with a flow rate of 250/230 gpm also the drum filter dumps about 250 gallons per day in a total system of 20 k. Pic of my drum filters and the hatchery lay out is on bottom of page.
I need to know if I place the dechlorinating crystals in a basket/ sock directly into the drum filters sump will that do the trick and if anyone has work with this stuff before??
Here is the information on the product;
Dechlorinating Crystals This is sodium thiosulfate. It is the active ingredient that removes chlorine found in all chorine removal products. Simply mix 1 lb into a gallon of water to make stock solution. Then test with a chlorine test kit to see how many drops are required to remove the chlorine from a given amount of tap water. Most situations require no more than 1 drop of stock solution to remove the chlorine from a gallon of tap water. This is by far the cheapest way to remove chlorine from your tap water. Depending on your water's chlorine concentration, 1 lb will dechlorinate between 30,000 and 150,000 gallons of water.
Thanks in advance
Jason
