So I just dosed for over 1200 litres of water, instead of the 100 I replaced; because the female in my life wouldn't stop nagging at me :(

Is this an issue? I've heard its OK to overdose, but I'm guessing not this much!

Are the fish breathing fast or acting normal

Overdosed with what if its prime it will be fine.
Not true. A guy in our local club wiped out his tank last year from a Prime overdose. It will deplete oxygen. Granted, it takes a tremendous OD, but it will do it. I don't know if regular sodium thiosulfate can OD, but more isn't always better.

Woke up this morning to a dead rubbernose pleco. All other fish look fine, tank slightly cloudy; need to go to work but I've left the tank lid open, and will do another water change as soon as I'm back in :(

Hopefully it'll be fine until then. Failing that, I can try and get back at lunchtime

Sorry about your pleco.
I would do a smallish water change and just add water...no conditioner....maybe put a powerhead aimed up towards the surface?
I make my own water dechlorinator and am pretty sure you would have to use and entire container of crystals to do harm...then again, better safe than sorry, do the water only water change...

I'll definitely do a small change of 30% later today, if anything it'll help me bust some creeping nitrates.

Poor dude was on the bottom with his main body white, rest of him was untouched so I can only guess he was super sensitive to the conditioner; or the melafix i dosed with for some fin damage i'd noticed on my barbs.

Hope I've not created some noxious soup by the existence of the melafix already.
