Decided to ditch the socks !

So I decided not to deal
With socks anymore lol! I upgraded my filtration on this setup to an ultima Bead filter . I’m gonna be pulling water from the sump but also drilled the tank to create a close loop for backwashing with the help of a pool diverter (thanks to JK47 for the info and inspiration ) excuse the rookie plumbing skills and the mess lol! Here’s a few pics I want to share.

Running a reeflo hammerhead with ultima 6000.. should be plenty enough lol !

Perfect! Everything is squared up, level and well planned too. That plumbing came out perfect! Nice to see someone take pride in their work!

Is there another thread where you brain stormed this?

I've been debating on a small ultima or wlim on some 180s. I'm not sure if it will remove too much water for proper back flush though.

Sorry I don’t , I actually started this project with an ultima 2000 with socks on the sump and pretty much just use the ultima for bio . but I know my reeflo pump was too much for it so when I had the chance to pick up the ultima 6k , I took it and scrap the socks idea and just let the ultima 6000 do it all .. also the reason why I have a diverter because I know my sump is only 150 gallons , so I rather pull from the tank itself because I didn’t want to drain out the sump.
