This was def not easy, but here goes... I'm getting rid of my 8.5" RD, 8" Lyonsi, 5.5" Trimac, 7" Dovii and a 3.5" FH. I will go for a pair of Salvinni in the 56g (I have three now and will pick up 2-3 more). I will keep the 7.5" Bocourti in the 55g for now as it is still healing up a bit. I will keep the 10.5" Festae, 8" Midas, 10" Red Isletas, 10" Black Belt, 7.5" Argentea and 5 "Grammode in the 265g. Once the Bocourti is healed up I will switch the Grammode and Bocourti. The Grammode will have the 55g to himself. I'm still on the fence as what to do with the 7" Xilo... he may just stay in the 265g for now... or I might sell him too?? Now all I need to do is actually do it instead of just saying it. I've been dreading going to the LFS.

What do you guys think of the 265 with the Festae, Bocourti, Argentea, Midas, Black Belt and Red Isletas?? At least for another year I think?? Thanks.

That is what happens when you have little space but want so many different species, i have been there many times. Hope you get over your losses and good luck on your decision making.

Really depends how your fish react to the new stock. Sometimes adding or removing just one fish can severely change the attitudes of the remaining fish, so there's no way to know if making such drastic changes will work or not. The good news is most of these fish have been together for a long time already, so that can only be a good thing. Good luck Anthony, everything will work itself out in the end and you'll find the perfect stock, even if it takes more than one attempt.

Thanks all. The Lyonsi and FH are not coming out of the 265... only the RD, Dovii and Trimac. I hope I do not have any issues once they are taken out... I don't think I will since the Festae keeps all the others in line, lol. I know that in the end I will need to remove more, but having six in the 265 is a start. I will say this though... going forward I will never have so many fish in a tank (even if it did work) if for no other reason because I hate giving my fish away, let alone other reasons too. I enjoyed the past year watching all these different types of cichlids grow from 2-3" all the way to now where some are 10". It was fun, however I feel that this will be my last time doing it this way. I would like to have a few types and enjoy growing those... maybe some pairs and then move on to the next fish on the list so to speak. Again, I'm not upset with how I went about my tank and stock as it ultimately worked (I always knew I would need to trim the herd), but I wasted a lot of money on fish that I cared for and paid top dollar for through reputable sources... just to give the away to a LFS where they are going to offer me 25% of what they can sell them for!!! Never again will I take this route. Thank you all once more.

Wow... I know what u mean though, making changes to your set ups after having spent the time, money, and effort is not an easy thing to deal with. I get the whole LFS thing too, I've given away fish for which I've paid some serious cash for and cared for a long time after, for just a fraction of the price I paid originally ( kinda sad).

Well I guess you at least get some consolation and peace of mind knowing your remaining stock will hopefully have a chance. GL, and sorry for your loses.

So I sold them about an hour ago. I got $50 for five fish!!! They are re-selling the fish like this: 7"Dovii for $50, 8" Lyonsi for $40, 8.5" RD for $20, 3.5" FH for $25 and the 5.5" Trimac for $40. They are going to make $125 off this deal. Really sucks, but it was def for the better of the remaining fish.
