Hey all.
Ive just about finished highschool and for me owning a massive tank WAS a pipe dream as i didnt have the needed funds. But now i have a job i can be ready to buy the tank and all equipment within a month, hopefully...
Atm im desiring a 6 foot tank, which to my current level of research is a 100 gallon yeah? Or 370 litres or so.
For filteration i want to use two internal filters, one at either end of the tank. And for bio and chemical i was thinking using a canistor or hang on placed in the middle of the tank.
The fun part, fish. I was thinking about nice beautiful cichlids, which btw dont have to be massive so i can fit many in. Atm im very much liking the look of the Blue dolphin cichlids and the malawi eye biters. Im kind of sliding into the idea of a community tank, but if the species are beautiful enough then by all means i will go species only.

Everyone please comment on the filteration requirements as you probabley know better than i do to what my tank will need. Please give me info on a good choice of fish and wether i should follow into getting the fish i have already stated.

If you can afford it I'd go with a 180 gallon tank (6ftx2ftx2ft) with built in overflows and make a sump for it. But then again it all depends on what you want to keep in it.

Obviously money is a concern. Get a 125 gallon. The 125 is a great size for a great price. You can get a brand new one from pet supplies plus for only $300 bucks. Build your own stand and you are good to go. Heck keep it on the floor if you have to until you can get a stand. GL to ya.

a 125 gallon?? Seems pretty big.... What kind of filtering would i need for that, wouldnt it be pretty needy and hardcore?
Wouldnt it be costly too?
Btw if anyone could plz recomend the best and cheapest filteration techniquies for a 6foot+ tank that would be appreciated

just get a 125 with an fx5 and youll be set

the filtration also depends on what you want to keep in it, plus the water change frequency
