I'm trying to decide rather I should keep my black aro or get a jardini.
I'm not going to get any more tanks, at least not in my current house so my 180g will be the biggest tank I will have for a very long time.

with black I'll have better chance with tankmates (mainly community fish) as it has bothered any of them even all the small tetras. eventually I will have to sell it when it out grows the 180g, but thats few years down the road as its only 6-7" now and just start eating pellet.
jardini will probably more suitable to the size of the tank in the long run....
the bonus is that the jardini is already on pellet....
I like them both which is hard to decide....

Man, keep the black until it grows the tank(maybe you will buy bigger than yours you

don't know.!!!!!!!). since she is quite peaceful to her

tank mates and feeding on pellets

Keep the blue arowana!! those thing are the best imo and when it grows out of the tank sell it if thats your plan..

+1 keep

You need to keep it and post pics. Yours is one of those rare ones that haven't been imported into the states for 11 years:screwy:

Your black with live along time in that 180g. They are not hard to get rid of, if you so choose when that time comes.

well I guess that's what I'll have to do then.

The seller of the OPs aro was claiming the aroe he was selling were different then the so called Colombian blue aros that you commonly see. He even had stated that the Colombian blue/black aro were actually a variant of silver arowana.

His main argument was that his aros would not be blue they would only have black and as adults the would be much more bkack then what you now see as black aros.

This was on another forum of coarse, no way he could get away with such nonsense here on MFK.

actually he told me it would be more like a gunmetal grey when adult.
mine was almost 80% black (except the belly area) until I kept it in a white cooler for almost week while trying to fix some plumbing issue then all the color got washed away and it looked almost just like a silver.
it has more of a turquoise color hue now. I think the color is coming back slowly.
it'll most likely looks just like any other black/blue aros but I can still hope right?? lol

Ah... thanks for the low down dirty shame.:D

JP updated photos? Ares was a bad arse, what this fish' named?
