I found an amazing deal that i don't think i can pass up. but i need help deciding. i've never owned a tank this big and i don't want to make the wrong choice. both tanks are the same price.

option A: acrylic 5'L x 18"W x 24"H tank, stand and light.

option B: glass 6'L x 18"W x 21 1/2"H tank, stand and light.

i know bigger is always better, but now it's a matter of acrylic vs. glass

thanks for the help.

IMO length is better then height. By the way what are the prices on the tanks?

yeah, but is acrylic better then glass?

i'll let you know price tomorrow, when i pick one up. lol

I'd pick the glass as well. I hate taller tanks... 24" is just tall enough to be annoying to work with. I also like the extra length. The scratching thing is just a bonus.

It really depends on the fish that you are going to put in the tank. Do the fish requirer a taller tank or longer one? If the hight is not and issue I would go glass, just because I prefer glass over acrylic.

i personally prefer glass > acrylic just because glass won't scratch as easily...
