Ok here is the sitution i have a 55 gal and 40 gal breeder that i am thinning out the fish so i can get some Hemichromis fasciatus and some NANDOPSIS ISLATUM all about an inch to grow out. The first decision is which fish to keep in my 55 , a jd , a red saum or true red terror or a Tilapia snyderae pair. The second decision is which is cichlid to grow out in one tank, It might not matter because they can both be very aggressive cichlids. Just wanted to here peoples suggestion. oh and i know u can not keep either of the cichlids in the two tanks permantely. Here are some pics or the jd , rt and saum , the jd is the largest and the rt is the smallest.

Do you mind feedback from a noob? I like the jack dempsey and, being the largest, think that it should go in the 55. I haven't kept either of the fish you plan to growout but, after a quick search, I'd go with the Hemichromis. I didn't find anything on Nandopsis Islatum, but I like the look of the Hemichromis and might actually get some of those in the near future.

definitely go with the istlatum, after seeing other mfk'ers put their pics up of them, how can you not get some

i am getting them both i was justing wondering what tank to put the istlatum in and what tank to put the Hemichromis fasciatus the 40 or the 55 gal for which one

put the Hemichromis fasciatus in the 40 as it only gets 6" max(ish)
