Ok so in 8 months have gone through 2 aq 110. One lasted for about 8 months the replacement AQ 110 lasted only 9 days. I am now on my thrid one. After a while they became rather loud. I replaced the impeller shaft which did show signs of wear and tear. About two weeks later the first AquaClear began to buz, I replace the impeller shaft again this did nothing. I then replace the impeller itself which did not solve the problem. This is when I decided to buy my second AquaClear 110 it lasted only 9 days before making the same nosie. AQ 500 where renowned for their durability and lifetime warranty, fluval AquaClear 110 now I only have a two-year manufacturer's warranty. Anyways what are y'all think and what are your guys's experience what the new and supposably improved AquaClear 110?

Never used a prefilter, I've had the intakes get clogged with floating plants several times and they start gulping making a horrendous noise. Clean em out and they start right back up. If you can't bring yourself to get another, seachem has a new HOB line that is similar to the AC that I've heard good things about

Intake fliter gets cleaned every 2 days during water change. Might try the seachem, I'm on my 3rd ac 110 now
