Hello all, I recently got a 160 gallon tank and now after making a nice dent in the wall have decided it will have to be taken down the basement in pieces, My dad recently resealed a 50gallon tank so he has some experience with getting rid of the sealant.

I was wondering if any of you other monster fish keepers have done this before and how you did it? Thanks!

5X3X2 its quite irregular but good for large fish, if we only had an extra inch we couldve made it, another problem is that we couldn't hold it vertically because it was just too heavy, otherwise we couldve got it down.

oh really? it was listed on kijiji.ca as 160 lol quite the bargain with a stand, filter, and fully fitting glass lid ;) back to the question anyway, surely all you guys with your monster tanks have had to dissasemble or reseal etc, how did you do it?

apparently its 224.42 gallons.... nice!

ive got my 200 gall 7 x 2 x 2 in basement.. just need 4 people then you can manuver it easier .. ive stripped silicone to reseal a tank.. but never taken glass off completly i wouldnt really mess with it

Problem is I don't have 4 people to maneuvre it, the sheer weight of this thing is immense, had to use jacks to get it into the house.

Borrow or rent a furniture dolly if you don't have enough people to help you move it.
