Idk if I'm the only one but my bichirs love to rearrange the decorations in the tank. I'm not worried about them colliding with the rocks and driftwood (I notice they heal from that rather quickly). My question is I have a couple of holed rock decorations their white and look like coral. I had to pull one of my Delhezi's out because he got stuck. I took it out the rock and went found one with bigger holes, but has anyone had a Bichir that drowned their self, or is this normal behavior? I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Ime with polys I've noticed sometimes they will try to fit or squeeze through very tight nooks and crannys. Personally I would do what you did as far as making sure the opening in the rock is large enough for poly to pass through without difficulty.:) Never had a poly die from being trapped.
