My local Petlanddiscount is starting to sell sponge filters. I asked the manager which brand they were selling and she told me she believes they are deep blue. Has anyone used this brand to give me their personal reviews on them or can compare to the Hydro sponge filters?

I am currently using both brands so ill give you my thoughts on the two. If you are farmiliar with hydor they come in "regular" or "pro". Deep blue brand is in between the both of the hydors for fineness of the sponge itself. I actually prefer the deep blue over the regular hydor. Best to last in order would be 1. Hydor pro, 2. Deep blue 3. Reg. Hydor. The reg hydor sponges break down quicker in my experience with cleaning them so yea the deep blue ones are actually pretty good ive had a couple last for 3 years so far with no detioration.

Never used the Deep Blues, but they pretty much look like th API (Hydro) brand sponge filters.

I've switched over to Swiss Tropical sponge filters and haven't looked back. Much more efficient, IMO.

I LIKE AZOOS MYSELF ... I have pretty much quit using hydors (except for the pro5 model)
