Hey everyone, hope your all doing well. I’m wanting to start a Midas/Midas hybrid breeding project. I don’t particularly care if they are 100% pure Midas or not, as long as they retain the structure of the Midas vs the RD I.e. blunted snouts. However, I’m interested in finding a line that has a nice deep orange body coloration with red heads. I’m not exactly sure how to go about finding a line such as this to get stock from since these fish obviously go through significant transformations as they progress through adulthood. I have plenty of space, plenty of equipment.... it just seems many of the lines have lots of piebald and/or white blotching in them and I’d like to go the other direction in regards to coloration. Any suggestions? Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks a million in advance!

I think having a straight color would be hard, most of midas and rd that i see are more of blotched orange/white/yellow/gold. If you’re in the east coast, i’ve seen good ones in monster aquarium or the breeder in baltimore/DC area.

He got post on craigslist in Baltimore/ DC/ Washington area for his midas. Lemme ask for his email or phone number.

I found the link I can look into it further from there. Thank you! If anyone has any other suggestions as well I’m all ears.
