Deer Antlers in tank

I remember reading somewhere on the forum about people putting antlers in their tank and i thought this was a pretty neat idea.

I returned to my parents home a few days ago and saw that i had a couple pairs there and it reminded me of using them in my tank.

I'm just wondering what i had to do to them before putting them in the tank, benefits and harm of have them in there. I also rememeber something about they can affect your water.

Do you want calcium and phosphorous in your water? As well as keratin
Properly sealed, anything can be put in a fish tank.
