Etcetera...

Wrong. All broods from wild caught fish are F1.

F0 is wild caught
F1 means young of a wild caught pair
F2 means young of an F1 pair
F3 means young of an F2 pair
etc.

Wild caught does not make a big difference to me, but many like having fish from a very specific location because of the different traits they may have. After a few captive bred generations they tend to lose these traits.

yeah with some wild caught fish, they have different colors/traits than the over-bred hobby strains, but for the most part there really isnt a big difference between the two, some people just like to have them to use them for bragging rights or something, though sometimes they are needed in breeding programs for fresh blood to reduce inbreeding

this is it. I agree it is correct.

With CA cichlids, most species have a different colour variety in each river, so fish from specific locations are sought after. Also a lot of fish are genetically weak because of many generations of inbreeding, and/or hybridised (a big problem with Convicts and Paratheraps (seperately) for example) so wild fish are often preferred.
