They're pretty hard to come by over here. I've only seen them once for sale and they were going for $80

That's a sad truth about polypterus. If they aren't common in your area, you'll have to fork out shipping costs.

they get to about 14 inches.
mine grow slow.
but iveheard from others they grow fast.
